More Of The Samhain
This is the second day of Samhain, the Pagan New Year!
Oh, yeah! Samhain is the a Druid Festival that offers 3 days of festivities starting yesterday. The high point, depending on your point of view, was when the witches' Sabbath celebrations took place, and they all got naked and danced around a bonfire, among other interesting acts of worship.
Note: Samhain has been ripped off by the HolyMuthaTheChurch who turned it into All Saints Day and All Souls Day, which are nowhere near as fun.
Costume: Druidic (witch minimal)
Decor: Post-pagan Stonehengish
Drink: Two Witch's Tits, and a mess of Bloodies
Bonfire Grub: Roast Weenies and Marshmellows as long as it is over a raging bonfire.
Game: Dancing 'round the bonfire and sacrificing virgins
DVD Ambiance: WickerMan. Not the newer Nick Cage version, but the original English one with Christopher Lee where a very young Brit Eckand dances around in her witches outfit.

Menudo
Pronouce it meh-NOO-doh or meh-NOO-thoh. Oh, who cares how you mispronounce it, as long as it works. And as any hard drinking Mexican will tell you, it works like el champ.

Menudo is a spicy soup made with tripe (cow stomach), calves feet, green chiles, hominey and Mexican seasonings.

If you want it fancy, garnish with lime wedges, bowls of chopped chiles and onion and serve it with hot tortillas. However, our way is to stumble into a Mexican restaurant and before being seated say, "menudo, por favor."

Remember these words? Now is the time to come to the aid of your party. If you had to type that in typing class, you kmow that is was training for this moment. This key moment in history when we can elect Sarah Palin, so she can use the Dick Cheney hunting trip ploy, and pretend old Johnnnie Mac is a moose and become our fearless leader! So vote! "Vote Early Vote Often!" as we used to say in Chicago where everyone votes at least once — even if they are dead, and not even registered 40 times by ACORN.
Pregame: Drive others to the polls, then to your party
Drink: Magnums of Champagne for winners. Half pints of MadDog 20-20 for the losers
Grub: Donkey and elephant-shaped cookies for winners Sour grapes for losers.
Dress: Any thing you like that will handle champagne stains.
Dancing: Poll dancing? Victory chain dance?
Decor: Candidate posters decorated with magic markers
Video: CNN or MSNBC for realists. FOX for those who like being lied to in a fair and balanced manner.
Oldschool Tunes: Stuff like "Happy Days Are Here Again," or We Are The Champions", or "Give Me That Old Time Religion"

Ariba! Ariba! While down in old Mexico they are holding their annual Tequila Fairs, it is up to us gringo-yanqees to show solidarity by joining them in a gringo fiesta of Tequila singalongs, games & drinks.  Lotsa songs. And lotsa tequilla shot very responsibly. So load up the T-Party Jukebox with tequila songs and invite your friends over, especially Jose, 'cause if Jose Cuervo ain't a friend of yours, you're throwing the wrong fiesta, amigo.
Drink: options include straight tequila shots with salt and lime, Belly Shots, Tequila Sunrise, or Formaldehyde
Grub: TexMex. Chihuahua Tacos, Refried Beans with mucho tortillas and Salsa Dip
Games: Tequila Games
Hombre Dresscode: Sombrero or cowboy hat, jeans, boots and Jose Cuervo t-shirts
Senioretta Dresscode: (what Luz is wearing in the rollover) or a bright red dress
Language: only Spanish from midnight on, even if you don't hable Espaniol.
Decor: Matador paintings on black velvet.
